Northfields Community Center

Yesterday a group of women from Northfields and Ealing invited me to a meeting. I was privileged to hear a speaker describing John Singer Sargent's work and portraits of aristocratic woman who had a major contribution to the womenfolk. Thanks again for the invitation West Ealing WI!

Who am I?  What is identity? How is it formed? How is it expressed? These are questions we cannot hope to answer but Cupola has put together an exhibition of diverse works where artists have responded to the title of the exhibition, I. Painting, printmaking and photographs of various sizes and an impressive 6 foot stained glass wardrobe/alter piece share space with kiln formed glass sculptural objects and a full grown 'fashion monster' amongst other things. Portraiture and the full figure in various degrees of abstraction unsurprisingly feature quite heavily in the exhibition, although abstract work is also represented.   “The response to the open submission call for works has been impressive and more varied than we were expecting.  This is a visually arresting exhibition which will no doubt offer challenges for some but we hope that raw, sensitive and occasionally unusual expressions of self within this exhibition will strike a cord with some.”   Karen Sherwood, director. 17 artists are taking part.

Painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, glass, textiles, jewelery and sculpture are represented.

Exposició Aiguafreda Març 2018

Fotografies de la inauguració de l'exposició d'Anna Cortada​ al seu poble natal, Aiguafreda al Vallés oriental. El dia 3 de març del 2018 a les 18:00 h de la tarda es va inaugurar l'exposició de l'artista i dissenyadora de moda Anna Cortada, al casal d'avis Sant Jordi d'Aiguafreda. Aquesta exposició es podrà veure fins el dia 16 de març del 2018 en l'horari habitual del casal. Haig de donar les gràcies a totes aquelles persones que m'han ajudat a montar i que m'ajuden cada dia a fer possible que em pugui dedicar a l'art. Gerard Newell Pelejero​ Virgínia Pelejero​ Montse Bordas B​ Joan Pinyana​ A continuació us deixem unes fotografies de les obres, el dia de la inauguració i la visita dels nens de l'esplai Pica pins, que ens van sorprendre a tots, amb uns dibuixos fets per ells mateixos, basats en els quadres que es podien veure a l'exposició i finalment visitant en primera persona l'exposició i ensenyant-me els dibuixos que havien fet cadascú dels alumnes. la iniciativa va sorgir de la mestra Irene Garcia​, que intenta educar els alumnes amb la finalitat que es puguin expressar lliurament en l'art i que tinguin eines en un futur per poder expressar les seves propies emocions. Esperem que us hagi agradat l'exposició.
